This task is to complete a photoshoot in response to your chosen theme. What you choose to take photographs of is completely up to you - please bare in mind that I will be asking you to draw from your photographs and then incorporate your drawings into your possible designs - so try to be thoughtful and creative with the photographs you choose to take. Remember that good photographs are not found, they are made. You will therefore probably need props, models etc. to make your photographs really successful.

Task 1: Green (grade 1/2) Complete one shoot where you take 12 photographs in response to your chosen theme.
Amber (grade 3/4) Take 15-20 photographs, using your knowledge of the elements of art and compositional guidelinesto ensure that the photographs are creative and high quality.
Red (grades 5+) Take as many photographs as you wish. Variety is key - try to vary what is in the photograph, how you arrange the subject in front of the camera, the background, lighting, any props etc.
Task 2: Upload your photos into a gallery on your Weebly site with the title '(name of theme) inspired shoot'. Task 3: Open the best photo in Affinity and edit your photograph to enhance it. You might like to try the following: - Desaturate your colours (make it black and white) - Enhance brightness and contrast - Enhance lighting and shadows (eg. curves or filters: render - lighting.) Task 4: Export your edited photo as a JPEG then upload to an image element under the gallery you made for your last shoot so that your photo is large and you show off your skills.
Task 5: Green (grade 1/2) Write a short paragraph to review your photo shoot and edited photos. Put this underneath your large edited photo. Discuss the following: - What did you do during the photo shoot? - How did you take your photos, what props/lighting did you use and why? - Did you create a mood/atmosphere through the facial expression/pose/composition? How? - What are the strengths of your edited photos and why?
Amber (grade 3/4) Write a short paragraph to review your photo shoot and edited photos. Put this underneath your large edited photo. Discuss the following: - What did you do during the photo shoot? - How did you take your photos, what props/lighting did you use and why? - Which compositional guidelines did you use and why? - What are the strengths of your photos and why? - How do you plan to develop this image into a final outcome? - What could you do differently in either the photo shoot or the editing?
Red (grades 5+) As with the amber task, but also carry out whatever you just said you could do above to develop your work independently. This would need to be done when everything else is finished. It might involve a new photo shoot or it might just be a different edit.
