An artist mood board is very useful to explore a number of different artists before choosing who to research in depth - it shows the examiner you have considered a number of different influences before choosing the most 'interesting' for your project. You should have at least six artists - as well as graphic artists you might include the work of people with other skills like photographers, film makers, architects or a mixture as shown in the example.
When looking for suitable artist try looking at websites such as The Tate Coursework Help or The National Portrait Gallery or another famous art gallery rather than choosing the first person that comes up on your google search. You want the artist to have a website and to have shown in an art gallery or have been paid for their work if possible - this will make life much easier when you complete your research. |
You can also create mood boards quickly and easily using Pinterest. You'll have to sign up for an account, but you can do this with your school email address if you like.
I would suggest doing this in addition to a 'normal' mood board, not instead of one. If you are printing your work, you can take screen shots of your Pinterest mood board and then add them to your portfolio. If you are using Weebly to display your work, you can add a link to your Pinterest board (as long as the board is public).
